Introduction

The 50hr Yoga + Breathwork Intensive is an advanced teacher training course designed for:

  • Committed students who want to go deeper in their practice 
  • New teachers who want to expand their knowledge after a 200hr YTT
  • Experienced teachers who want to refine their teaching skills

During this course we will focus on the science of how the body works during both movement and breathing. Understanding the "how" helps us to move better, breathe better, and ultimately teach better.

The course is divided into 2 modules:

1. Movement Physiology and Biomechanics

2. Breathing Physiology and Techniques

Movement Physiology and Biomechanics will help you develop kinaesthetic awareness and improve your self practice. Those of you who are teachers will be able to use this knowledge to develop better teaching cues and improve the way you sequence your classes.

By the end of Breathing Physiology and Techniques, you will know which breathwork techniques to use and when, and you will be able to create your own breathwork sequences, either for yourself or to teach others.

Each day we will have a mixture of pranayama and dynamic yoga asana classes combined with lectures and workshops.

This course is accredited by Yoga Alliance and you will receive a 50hr YACEP certificate upon completion.

Course Location

Welcome to Layla Yoga Garden! Located off a quiet laneway in Mae Hia just 15 minutes from Chiang Mai Old City. Once an artist's workshop, this special building and it's surrounding garden will be your home for the duration of the course.

The course is offered with a residential and non-residential option. For those of you who wish to stay with us, we have beautiful accommodation just 5 minutes walk from Layla Yoga Garden.

What will you eat?

Food

We will serve a vegan brunch every day after the morning class/workshop and eat together in the garden. The fully plant based buffet is provided by one of Chiang Mai's best vegan restaurants.

Daily Schedule

  • From 7.30am to 8.30am - Pranayama/Meditation

  • From 8.30am to 10.30am - Dynamic Yoga Practice

  • From 10.30am to 1pm - Lunch + Free Time

  • From 1pm to 3pm - Lecture & Biomechanics

  • From 3pm to 5pm - Workshop or Restorative Practice

*The style of the morning yoga asana class will be MIA (Myofascial Integrated Alignment). A fun, dynamic, and creative practice that aims to balance the myofasical meridians.*

What will you learn?

This course is designed to teach you how yoga (asana) + pranayama (breathwork) affect the physical body, mental and emotional levels, and energy flow. During the course, we will bridge Eastern philosophy and Western science to deepen the understanding of these two perspectives. The ultimate goal of this course is to understand what's happening in your body while practicing asana + pranayama so that you can maximize the benefits for your own practice, and in the service of others.

We'll study through 2 modules: Movement Physiology and Biomechanics + Breathing Physiology and Techniques.

Module 1: Movement Physiology and Biomechanics

  • Daily practice of Myofascial Integrated Alignment (MIA) Yoga
  • The Physiology of Muscles
  • Everything you need to know about Fascia
  • What happens to muscles + fascia when you move?
  • What are Myofascial Meridians?
  • Study the different types of stretching
  • Understand what happens when you stretch
  • How to stretch properly for your goals
  • Learn the different types of flexibility
  • How to develop the different types of flexibility

Module 2: Breathing Physiology and Techniques

  • Daily breathwork (pranayama) practice
  • Anatomy and physiology of breathing 
  • Impacts of Breath on the Nervous System
  • What happens in your body when you breathe?
  • Overview of Polyvagal Theory
  • Eastern Modalities: Nadis, Gunas, Vayus, Bandhas
  • Breathwork/Pranayama Techniques
  • How to create your own Breathwork Sequences

*Along with the course manual, students will receive a booklet with ready made breathwork sequences, as well as a booklet outlining the myofascial meridians.*

How will you learn?

There are 3 classes every day. The morning session will be “MIA Yoga” (Myofascial Integrated Alignment) encompassing Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. The second session will consist of informative lectures. In the afternoon, interactive workshops will guide participants in visualizing the Myofascial Meridians, feeling them in their own bodies, and assisting the Meridians in order to achieve better myofascial balance.

Eidan has been practicing yoga for nine years. He earned his 200hr Ashtanga certification in India and his 300hr in Yoga Biomechanics from Dylan Werner. Additionally, Eidan studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for 4 years and this knowledge allows him to offer a well-rounded approach when guiding and supporting his students.

With six years of teaching experience, he covers Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Pranayama, Yin Yoga and Human Biomechanics. Eidan also teaches 200-hour teacher trainings and leads workshops that enhance students' understanding of yoga through the lenses of physiology and biomechanics.

Eidan is a dedicated teacher who embodies his teachings and challenges you while maintaining a supportive and open learning environment.

Am I qualified to join this teacher training course?

This course is open to students and teachers alike. Anybody is welcome to join as long as they come with an open mind and a willingness to learn.

What is MIA (Myofascial Integrated Alignment) Yoga

MIA is a modern dynamic style of yoga. It combines traditional yoga asana with modern movements. It aims to balance the myofascial meridians.

Where is Layla Yoga Garden?

We are located in Chiang Mai, Thailand! Layla Yoga Garden is in a quiet neighbourhood in Mae Hia, just 15 minutes from Chiang Mai Old City. We are also easily accessible from Chiang Mai Airport CNX.

Yes. Upon completion of this course you will receive a certificate of completion for Yoga + Breathwork Intensive - Advanced 50hr YTT. This course is registered with Yoga Alliance and counts towards continuing education hours.

A €200 deposit is required to secure your place.
