The Evolution of Layla Yoga Garden

The Evolution of Layla Yoga Garden

Tucked away in Mae Hia, surrounded by trees and a little removed from the busier parts of Chiang Mai, Layla Yoga Garden is our second studio space.

It started as a place for yoga - a quieter, more community focused counterpart to our Old City studio - and over time it has naturally become home to our regular yoga classes, teacher trainings, workshops and community gatherings.

But we’ve always felt there was something more to it.

We’re slowly evolving the garden into a place where yoga can sit alongside other things we love: art, music, creativity, nature and movement.

Not because we want to move away from yoga, but because we believe these things belong together.

Our regular yoga classes continue to be at the heart of the schedule. Yoga for Every Body, Flexibility Flow, and our Stretching & Mobility classes are open to everyone and taught in both English and Thai. These continue alongside other yoga classes, workshops, and teacher trainings - the next Myofascial Yin Yoga Teacher Training is scheduled for January 2027.

We also have community meditation every Tuesday, regular Kirtan/Bhakti music offerings, singing circles, breath, and movement events.

And soon, we’ll be introducing something a little different…

Starting in November, we’ll be hosting both: Sip & Paint and Open Studio.

Before we ever arrived, Layla Yoga Garden began its days as a private art studio. A space big enough to store huge canvases, where paint could splatter, and where creativity could flourish. As a homage to these beginnings, and also because it reflects who we are and what we love… we’re introducing a series of art offerings.

Sip & Paint is an opportunity to spend an afternoon or evening painting, chatting and making something without taking it too seriously. It’s a time to gather with friends or meet new people in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Open Studio will be a little more free-form - time and space to come in, make, experiment and see where your creativity takes you.

It’s our dream to build a creative community where ideas and inspiration can be shared among each other. We welcome artists, creatives, and markers… although you don’t need to consider yourself an artist… you can just come as you are - no expectations 😀

There will be more to come too - more opportunities to explore creativity, mindfulness, breathwork and movement in different ways.

For us, this is really what the evolution of Layla Yoga Garden is about.

Creating a place where you can come to practise, learn something new, make something, listen to music, sit quietly, meet people or simply spend a few hours somewhere a little slower.

Yoga is still at the centre of it.

But there’s plenty of room around it for other things to grow.

Excited to see where this journey takes us.

With love,

Roz
